Welp, the day has come & gone & as you can see below I PASSED!!!
When I completed the CNA course, I "Baked a cake." My instructor, & fellow classmates helped bake this cake & will always hold a special place in my heart. All the help practicing my skills I got from a very special person, who will always be an Angel of mine, was the icing on the cake. The night b4 the state boards, I went out with a couple of friends & that was the cherry on top of this great recipe 4 success!
The day of the boards, I woke up ready 2 go tackle the world. I had finally after a week gotten a good nights rest because of such a relaxing evening with friends. I did not eat much 4 breakfast, but I had enough 2 get me through, just in case the nerves kicked in, I didn't want a whole lot on my stomach 2 where I could be sick. I got there in time 2 take a chill b4 the written portion & I was given a card that I was not allowed 2 open until the morning of the boards. Well, what better time 2 open it then sitting in the desk right b4 the exam. The card put the biggest smile on my face & right then I knew everything was going 2 be fine. It was a card from all the high schoolers & instructors where I had been practicing my skills at 4 the last month. The written went quick & got the result quick. It was a PASS, but we all knew I had that no problemo.
Last was the skills, this was the portion I was so stressed out about. My nerves started getting jumpy so I threw on my headphones & let the music calm me down. I tried 2 sit with the others there, but it didn't work out so well. They were all talking skills this & skills that. I told myself that I did not want 2 do anything that had 2 do with skills on boards day. Especially not listen 2 how others do their skills. So, I threw my headphones on again & I just let the music do it's thing. When I was called back, I was nervous, but surprisingly very calm. It was actually a little funny afterwards, I knew the girls name who was my partner & played the role of my resident/patient. When my evaluator said GO, I went in my own little world & I called that girl by the name I always call the mannequin during practice. It was almost like no one else was there. I went outside after all was done & waited 4 my paper. She came out & handed me a paper that said PASS! I did it I did it!
I did leave there with one thing, a small war wound from one of the skills......when bending over 2 grab the shoes & put them on my partner, I smacked my head on something & got a nice bruise. I did not stop though, I kept trucking on. :0) Oh the life of not being able 2 see objects LOL.
This is not the end of this blog, just the end of this chapter. TALK SOON :0)
