FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 7/6/2010

The first week of school I will be catching up the post and then I will be posting daily. Remember this is the positive, and negative. I want everyone to know all the bumps in the road and all the accomplishments.

The first day of school was pretty much as I expected. I had worked my butt off for 3 months to have things prepared for my class, such as someone in the class to take notes etc. I was told one thing and then another, this person provides this etc. I turned in all necessary paperwork and never heard anything so I call and they say they did not get my paperwork and they do not provide the note taker now. Seriosly, so what was the point of even giving you all my personal medical background. They said what they would do is tell the instructor that I need a note taker and then she is to make an announcement for a student in my class to help me. This is ridiculous because we as visually impaired are suppose to get an independent note taker that is not in the class as to not take away from another student. I went to the instructor and the department head the first day and they said no that is not their job and referred me to someone else. They also started mention things that I would not be able to do, but I told them I could do anything and they were onboard.

The first day was a little tough, but was an awesome day! The homework WHOA BABY!!!! Have not done all that in 10 years.
