URINE DAY

We had a wonderful day today playing with urine and rolling each other around in the beds!!!!!

I got my test back from Friday and got an A on it and the test I took took today, oh boy is all I can say. I am afraid to see what I got in the morning. Again we do tasks everyday and today we learned a few things. First relearned how to use a slide sheet with a person in the bed, helping our partner position a sheet under the person then sliding them up, Dow , right, and left in the bed then taking the sheet out from under her. That was not a task we needed to get checked off. Next was our first task to be checked off. We had to position our guinea pigs HAHA on her side in the bed and then make her comfortable by putting a folded pillow under her back for support, a pillow in between her legs with the top leg knee bent slightly to support the knee and ankle, and then a pillow to support her arm and hand on top the body. I didn't roll my patient off the bed, but I did offer her a porn movie LOL. we have such a blast in class. I passed that task YAY! Next we were shown how to change the linens of a bed with a patient in it. This is a task we are doing tomorrow and were asked to practice tonight. This should be great fun tomorrow :0)

The last task of the day was measuring urine. This has been a fear of mine since I saw the urinal last week. Not that I could not do it eventually, but because I could not see a thing on it. The urinals are a cloudy clear and the numbers are the exact same color. So it's my turn, I take a deep breath and approach the urine. I pour it from the bedpan to the urinal no problem. Now time to measure, so I squat in front of the urinal on the counter, put my head down and my hands on the urinal. I got up with a number in my head and the insrtuctor looked then jotted down what it was. I finished emtying and clearing then I recorded my answer and showed her. The room went silent LOL. she screams YOU GOT IT GIRL. Everyone busted out in applause, I was so happy words can't even explain.

The fact that when one sence is not so good or gone bad, the other senses jump in with a force is so true. My sense of feel is very sensitive to where I could feel those numbers and the lines in between even with gloves on. What an amazing and blessed day!
