Today was AMAZING!!! I aced that first test yesterday and I really really was showed by my classmates how much they support me. We had two tasks again today and the first one was to put a gait belt or transfer belt on each other and then get them out of the hospital bed and walk them a short distance. I was tested and passed with again flying colors. The second task we had was the same thing, but adding a wheelchair in the mix.
This is the first time I have met the first vision obstical on a tasks. We had to bring the wheelchair in by the bed. Then we had to take the leg of the wheelchair off. Next we had to put the belt on the patient and transfer them to the chair. Last we had to put the leg back on the wheelchair. This is where my bump came in, but with persistence and a great deal of hand feeling I was able to get that leg back on not once but twice. I am going to have to take this task over on re-take day, but not because of the leg but because I forgot to lock the wheelchair. I was concentrating on that leg to hard. During the practice run it took me forever, but when I got that sucker on everyone clapped and patted me on the back. Such great support from my classmates!!!
